Privacy Policy
html.to.design (free) Chrome extension
Effective date: 8 October 2026 · Publisher: Haris (Haris Labs)
This policy describes how the independent Chrome extension published by Haris Labs handles information when you capture a web page or local HTML file for use in Figma. The extension is not affiliated with or endorsed by Figma or other products using a similar name.
Information processed during capture
The extension reads the page or element you choose to capture. It processes text, images, layout, styles, fonts, page titles, page and asset addresses, and related document information needed to prepare editable design content. Captures can include personal or sensitive information present in the page, such as names, messages, or account details. The capture tool should not be assumed to remove sensitive information automatically.
The extension accesses the selected tab for capture; its capture feature does not need a list of all previously visited pages. For local HTML files, it reads supported nearby image files only when you enable Chrome's “Allow access to file URLs” setting. Its local-image helper limits reads to the selected page's folder, subfolders, or a permitted nearby parent folder.
Clipboard, memory, and saved files
Capture results are prepared in page/browser memory and written to your system clipboard. Your browser and operating system's clipboard retention, history, and synchronization settings apply. When optional file saving is enabled, a capture is downloaded to your device. Clipboard content and saved files can contain the captured page information and embedded images.
Clear or replace your clipboard, close or reload the captured page, and delete downloaded capture files using your device's controls when you no longer need them. Copies pasted into Figma are managed separately in Figma.
Preferences and Chrome storage
Capture preferences and custom font mappings use Chrome sync storage and may synchronize through your Google account when Chrome sync is enabled. The last selected capture width is stored locally. Temporary viewport-emulation state uses session storage. The extension temporarily uses Chrome's debugger interface to set a chosen capture width and then clears emulation and detaches.
Network requests and third parties
Capturing may retrieve images or other resources from addresses used by the selected page. These providers receive requests and associated network metadata, including your IP address and requested resource address. The extension's image-fetch helper omits cookies; requests made by the page or bundled engine can follow their own browser request behavior.
The extension includes a Figma capture engine. Its code includes a Figma image-proxy address, cors-image-proxy.figma.com, and support for submitting capture payloads to a configured capture endpoint. If the engine's endpoint/upload workflow is activated, including through supported capture parameters in a page URL, page content can be sent to that endpoint. Normal capture through the extension's clipboard workflow prepares content for pasting. This policy does not promise that every capture mode works entirely offline or that all information always remains on your device.
A manual engine-update check requests the capture-engine file from Figma at mcp.figma.com to compare its hash with the recorded local version. The check does not install or execute the downloaded response.
When you paste captured content into Figma, Figma processes that content under its own terms and privacy policy. This policy covers Haris Labs' extension, rather than the websites you capture, Chrome synchronization, your operating system, or Figma's services.
Purpose and limited use
Haris Labs uses captured information to provide the user-requested page-to-design capture functionality. Haris Labs does not sell captured information or use it for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending decisions. Transfers associated with retrieving resources or delivering a configured capture are for the capture feature described above. The reviewed extension wrapper does not contain a Haris Labs analytics or developer-operated capture-upload service.
Haris Labs' use and transfer of information received through the extension are limited to its disclosed capture purpose and the permitted uses under the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- Capture a selected element instead of a whole page when appropriate.
- Avoid capturing content you do not want in your clipboard, saved files, or Figma designs.
- Change capture and font preferences in Settings.
- Disable local-file access, manage extension permissions, or uninstall the extension in Chrome.
- Delete saved captures and manage copies in Figma independently.
